With the 80th anniversary of the start of the Blitz being marked on 7th September 2020, @AncestryUK has partnered with artists across the UK to create 80 pieces of art. Each piece of art is inspired by a historical record and/or image from World War II.

I had the honour of creating two illustrations to commemorate the start of the Blitz.

The first illustration depicts Factory girls making union jack flags ahead of the VE day celebrations.

The second Illustration is of the Tilbury Shelter. I chose to reimagine a photo of the Commercial Road Goods Depot which housed the East End’s single biggest bomb shelter. Children who spent their nights in the Tilbury Shelter amused themselves by executing all kinds of drawings on the wall.

Bespoke illustration and greeting card design

I had the honour of designing a Christmas and greeting card for guests at Hart Shoreditch Hotel London. Including a bold and striking bespoke illustration of the hotel building.

A tactile, uncoated, thick paper stock was chosen, giving a textured feel when guests have them in hand, reflecting the hotel interiors.

The greeting card was first launched to celebrate the hotel’s 3 year anniversary. Each party guest at the 3 year anniversary celebration received one of the greeting cards I designed in a gift bag and the cards have also been placed in each room of the hotel.

Crafting a Timeless Brand for Millie and Maisie: Logo, Web Design, Business Cards, and Brand Guidelines

I'm thrilled to present a special project I had the pleasure of working on for the amazing Millie and Maisie. It all began when I met Millie through one of my wonderful art collectors at my art show a few years ago. Millie and her best friend Gemma approached me with an exciting opportunity to create branding for their jungle adventure-inspired cafe. The name Millie & Maisie holds a unique significance as it incorporates Millie's name and honours Gemma's cherished grandmother, Maisie.

The project scope included designing a modern and contemporary logo for the cafe, along with a simplified version. Additionally, I had the joy of illustrating characters representing both Millie and Gemma, which have been integrated into the logo design. Other elements created included collateral such as business cards, splash screen designs, and a comprehensive package for social platforms were also part of the creative process. The carefully curated color palette, featuring rich forest green paired with calming and soft notes of teal, yellow, and pale pink, sets the tone for an inviting, immersive, and magical atmosphere throughout the cafe, catering to both children and adults alike.

I had the privilege of attending an exclusive sneak peek of the incredible Millie and Maisie cafe in Clapham Old Town. Witnessing everything come together and seeing the dedication that Millie and Gemma have poured into this endeavor was truly awe-inspiring. I am immensely proud of these two boss babes, and it has been an absolute honour to be a part of this remarkable project.

Bespoke Illustration of The Legends Barbershop, John Adam Street, London.

In late 2024, I had the honour of being commissioned to create a detailed illustration of the iconic Legends Barbershop on John Adams Street in London. This piece was especially meaningful, as it was a retirement gift intended to bring back fond memories of the barbershop and its legacy. The final artwork was given to my client’s husband, capturing a space that has played such an important role in his professional journey.

The illustration features a colour palette inspired by the shop’s branding—rich pops of red and gold, soft creamy walls, and the warm red-blush brickwork that makes this barbershop feel like home. As a special touch, I included a peek through the doors to give a sense of the inviting atmosphere inside.

This commission was a wonderful opportunity to create something that not only reflects the beauty of the space but also serves as a meaningful reminder of the memories built there.

I was commissioned by my client to illustrate his two favourite Nike Air Max 1 trainers. To make this bespoke piece that extra bit special the client’s nickname ‘Air Mumboirs’ was added to the artwork.

Bespoke illustration

I had the honour of creating this much loved cripsy combo for my client. The illustration features two fan favourites, Beef Hula Hoops and Worcester Sauce Walkers crisps set on a zesty lime background that makes these two crisp bags pop and ping. The piece is titled ‘If you were a packet of crisps...’ as a loving and witty nod to the clients partner and his ultimate crispy combo.
The final artwork was professionally printed on archival grade Hahnemühle Photorag paper using rich pigmented inks.
